The purpose of this document is to help guide members through the DAO governance process. We will explain step-by-step how an Idea becomes a PieDAO Improvement Proposal (PIP) as well as Generic Proposals. Additionally, we’ll go into detail on the role the Governance Gates and Governance Stages play in the process.
Votes types are categorized in two main categories, and each one serve their own process flow
Improvement Proposals are called PIP (PieDAO Improvement Proposal). Their process requires two gates to be passed in order to be executed, and they’re expected to be used for New Pies or Pie Maintenance (rebalancing for example) or new features/improvements that require complex coordinated efforts or have high impact on the Governance or Treasury.
Generic Proposals are expected to be more light weight, requiering only one gate to be passed for execution. It is expected to be used for notarization, take actions in a scenario where funds are at risk, or any other activity with a clearly defined scope and clear actions that are not product related.
All votes casted in Snapshot should be following one of the following categories and consider the durations given below as the minimum required for their length. Types are categorized between Critical and Non Critical. Each type is described below into detail
