Go to https://www.piedao.org/. The first step is to get your wallet connected to the site.
Step 1: Click the “Connect Wallet” button in the upper right hand corner of the page. An overlay will appear:

Step 2: Click the MetaMask option. MetaMask will come up in a popup window.

Step 3: Click the “Next” button, and then the “Connect” button.
Your address now appears on the page in what was the “Connect Wallet” button.

If you pull down MetaMask you’ll see that your wallet is connected to the site.

In the navigation at the top of the page, pull down the “Products” menu and choose “Exchange”. Here you can purchase $PLAY or any of the other Pies.
The “Exchange Tokens” page is an app provided by PieDAO to make exchanging tokens between common currencies easy. Under the hood the swap happens via Matcha, a decentralized service from 0x Project that “automatically provides the end-user with the best possible price for their trade”.
Step 1: First select the “To” currency. The app has a “From” currency set to ETH by default. Below is the “To” currency where you can select PLAY or another token.
In the “From” box your ETH “Max balance” in MetaMask is displayed. If you click it the app will fill in the “From” field. But you shouldn’t use all your ETH. You need to reserve some, say 0.01, for future transaction fees.
Step 2: Fill in an amount of ETH. When you do so the app automatically calculates how much PLAY you’ll get.

The exchange app also lists the current price that it can get and a “Guaranteed Price”. When trading it’s never sure what the exact price will be because it could change seconds before your order is placed. This is known as ‘slippage’.
